Is transportation available or do residents need a car?

We want residents to maintain as much independence as possible. While residents are welcome to keep their cars, The Gables provides a bus and private car for scheduled group outings, as well as doctor appointments and trips to the bank and local merchants.

What distinguishes The Gables of Westerville Senior Living from other area communities?

The Gables of Westerville offers an independent living, assisted living and memory care community focused on dignity, respect and quality of life where residents can age in place. We also pride ourselves on wellness-minded programs highlighting the importance of social, mental and physical wellbeing. The community strives to be innovative as we find new technology and services that are unsurpassed. New innovations that will be implemented will provide a more effective way to communicate with residents and loved ones.

At The Gables of Westerville, each apartment is designed with aging in mind for comfort and safety. Whether a resident of our assisted living or our memory care apartment, each and every detail of the community, its amenities, and its programs are chosen to provide superior quality and comfort.

What are the differences between independent living, assisted living, and memory care?

Independent living is a lifestyle that allows seniors to maintain their current everyday living, while at the same time offering them a sense of community, specialized amenities and tailored services that are designed to keep them active and healthy. Assisted living affords seniors a greater level of assistance with activities of daily living so that independence and dignity are maintained in a friendly and caring environment. Memory Care is a special neighborhood for residents suffering from Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related illnesses. Memory Care offers safety, comfort and appropriate social interaction where each resident is cared for and treated with respect and compassion.

What does it cost to live at The Gables of Westerville?

We understand that financial obligations are a large part of choosing a senior living community. At The Gables, each neighborhood offers a variety of customizable options and choices to best suit your budget. There are VA benefits available to certain Veterans and Surviving Spouses to assist in paying for your cost of living. Additionally, a portion of the rent may also be tax-deductible as a medical expense. You’ll find that the costs of living at The Gables are much more financially feasible when compared to living by yourself or in higher-needs communities. For more information, please call us at (614) 918-0500 or complete our online contact form to speak to a senior living counselor.

What exactly are the VA benefits and do you help file for them?

Aid and Attendance is a pension the Veterans Administration provides Veterans and their Spouses to help cover the cost of senior living. It could pay $1,153 to over $2,846 per month. There are specific requirements. Please check the VA site or give us a call at (614) 918-0050 for more information.
